Southeast Ballroom
As its name implies, the Southeast Ballroom was originally a portion of the mansion’s grand third-floor Ballroom. It boasts a beautiful king-size bed with high-end Simmons Beautyrest pillow-top mattress and luxurious high thread-count hand-pressed cotton linens. There also is a twin-size daybed and trundle for additional guests if needed. The private bath includes a tub and shower combination and pedestal sink. There is new, period-style subway tile for the tub surround and octagon-and-dot tile for the bathroom floor—but with the modern comfort update of in-floor heating. Also for the optimum comfort of our guests, the 2009 renovation included installation of central air conditioning.
The room is fully carpeted for decreased sound transmission between the second and third floors. Amenities include a 40” HDTV and DVD Blu-Ray player, wireless and wired high-speed Internet access, and private phone with voicemail and free local calls.
The many divided-light leaded casement windows of the Southeast Ballroom overlook the residential view of 14th Avenue East (Millionaires’ Row) and the Mansion’s South Garden and terrace.
Like the other third-floor guest rooms, the Southeast Ballroom is larger than the queen-size guest rooms on the second floor, but with the same room rate it is attractively priced for guests who are able to negotiate the additional stairs.
