The centerpiece is a beautiful elaborately-carved mahogany California king-size bed. The spacious sitting area in the main room is furnished with a queen-size sofa/sleeper as well as a love seat. Lighting is provided by original Sheffield silver-plated wall sconces. A massive distressed table/desk in the main room is home to the 50” flat panel HDTV along with the DVD/CD player. From the windows at the east side of the room there is a serene, residential view of 14th Avenue East.

A hallway/dressing room with chaise lounge connects the main room to the sun porch, where there is a daybed and trundle that can be used for relaxed seating to enjoy a good book, or as one or two twin beds, or as a single king-size bed. There is also a charming cylinder desk in the sun porch.

The huge private bathroom features a stunning 450-jet horizontal-arm shower, or “ribcage shower,” original to the house and equipped with elaborate nickel-plated hardware recently completely rebuilt by Johnson and Johnson Antiques. The original tilework in the master bath has recently been repaired and supplemented with new period-style subway tile in the shower surround by Absolute Tile & Stone Art. In addition there is a large original bathtub with reproduction nickel hardware, as well as twin pedestal sinks.

This suite can readily accommodate 4 to 6 people - or just one or two, in the lap of luxury!
